Everyone wants cheap cable! Monthly bills can really add up, and in today's economy, we have to cut costs where and when we can. While you can really cut costs by just turning the cable off, that is not the ideal option for most people. After all, the TV provides us with entertainment, an escape, a lifeline to the outside world and what's going on in the form of news programming, and even an education if you are interested in documentary programming or the like. So how do you keep your TV and cut your monthly bills at the same time? Fortunately, it is not as hard as you might think. All you have to do is a little shopping around and apply some elbow grease - the results will be more than worth it in the long run, since you get to watch TV when you want and save money at the same time! |
Cheap Cable from Your Local Cable Provider |
|
Depending on where you live, you likely have a couple of different cable providers to choose from. Different areas and regions have different companies available to them, and no one region has ALL of the dozens of cable companies that are operating in the United States available to them, but you should still have something of a choice, even if it is a small selection. Find out your options in the way of the usual cable providers, such as Comcast or Cox Communications, and then find out what satellite cable TV providers operate in your area, too. Dish Network and DirecTV are the two most popular and common satellite TV providers in the United States, so start there. Then find out about what packages and deals they offer to their customers. Compare them in terms of both pricing and what channels you get. Nearly all cable companies and satellite companies offer different levels of service, from basic to premium. The basic packages will be the least expensive, but they will not have as many channels available as their more expensive premium package counterparts. Once you have a good idea of what the different companies offer, you can make a good choice based on your needs. If you are switching cable providers, you will find that many companies offer deals that give you free or discounted service for a certain amount of time. Some cable companies might be willing to cut you a similar deal to keep you from changing service, too, so do not be afraid to ask what your current cable provider would be willing to do for you. |

Cheap Cable with the Internet |
|
You have another option for viewing premium cable channel programming without actually paying for it. Just use the Internet! Many of the premium movie channels offer their programming in a streaming version on their websites, so to view, all you have to do is go to the website and watch! This means you can pay for only the most basic cable package for your actual TV and still watch premium programming! |
