Do I need to have a contract?

To offer you the best savings possible, we would ask for a 24-month commitment. You may still get DISH Network without the commitment; however, your savings will not be as large. If you opt out of the 24-month commitment, you may not be eligible for many of the current promotional offers.

Why should I switch from Cable?

Is DISH Network available outside of the United States?

Unfortunately, DISH Network is expressly prohibited from distributing programming services to anyone outside the U.S., its territories and possessions as indicated by DISH Network's programming contracts with the programmers. We're ready to install the dish antenna, but our homeowner's association forbids it. Can you help us?

The DISH Network antenna is 20 inches large and complies with the Satellite Consumer Bill of Rights, a regulation codified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on August 6, 1996. This regulation OVERRULES area zoning ordinances and Homeowner's Association covenants and restrictions on DISH antennas. This rule was required by Congress in the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Some Homeowner's associations (HOA's) have been fighting to keep the right to restrict satellite installation by threatening tenants with dish antennas with legal action. In a few cases, the HOA's argued that a DISH antenna installed on a roof was within the common area. The HOA's lost this argument. The United States government is on your side in this matter. How long is the estimated installation time?

The installer will provide the satellite dish and receiver(s) at the time of installation. There is no equipment to ship other than the VIP 622. As a result, it is possible to schedule installations immediately. Installation dates are available 7 days a week. We will also work aggressively on your behalf to ensure that your DISH Network service is installed as soon as possible.

How does the installation work, do you install nationwide?

All of our DISH installations are performed through the DISH installation network. We have nationwide coverage. Our installation contractors conform to all industry standards. I have a lot of tall trees in the way between my dish antenna and the satellite. What can I do?

Trees can cause interference with the satellite signal. If you cannot find a different location that provides a clear line of sight with the satellite, you may have to trim your trees. In order to help determine if you have a clear line-of-sight to the DISH Network satellites, you can download the azimuth and elevation angles in a PDF format from the DISH Network website.

What is DISH warranty?

DISH Network provides a one year parts and labor warranty for all equipment. You may also sign up for the DISH Home Protection Plan for only $6.00 per month. This warranty covers all DISH Network Branded DBS video equipment for most types of failures, including damage from power surges. This fee is waived for 6 months if you agree to a 24-month commitment.

What is the difference between DVR and Tivo?

Both have capability of recording live television. However with DISH Network's latest DVR, you have the capability of recording in HIGH DEFINITION and you can record over 500 hours of standard definition digital television! Tivo can only record up to 140 hours of standard definition.

Why does a phone line connect to the receiver?

The phone line connected to your receiver(s) ensures your ability to purchase Pay-Per-View movies and events. It is also required so your receiver can be updated with the latest software. You may be able to substitute an Ethernet connection to the receiver, but some features may not be available. Ethernet connection option is not available on all receivers.

How does weather affect my satellite reception?

DISH Network strives to bring the latest technology to your home. The company is constantly improving its satellite dishes. Previous dishes that had difficulties receiving a signal when the weather got bad are no longer used. Rarely will weather affect your reception! DISH Network advertises that its satellite dishes have a 99.9% signal reliability rate, which is better than many cable providers.
