Satellite is soooo much better than cable because if you move you can take the dish and equipment with you to the new location. Also, if you living in an area where the major cable providers aren’t providing service, you are screwed. Satellite is the way to go everytime!
Comment by Jeremy Martin on April 5, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Satellite is much better than Cable. Cable has a terrible DVR interface and is very clunky. Satellite was better with TiVo but their own DVR is still better than Cable.
Comment by Jared Turner on April 5, 2010 at 4:22 pm
Why is Satellite better than Cable? Because Chuck Norris uses it. Period.

Satellite > cable. That is all. Nothing else needs to be said. Self explanatory.

What rocks most about satellite TV? Well, it can cure cancer, help you lose 200 pounds in 3 months, and teach me to scale tall buildings in a single bound! Oh, and it also has a better signal quality and nicer customer service folks, in my experience.
Comment by Matt on April 5, 2010 at 6:17 pm
Satellite TV pulled me out from a burning building, and is also the leader of the free world.
so obviously, Satellite TV is amazing.
Cable TV kicks homeless orphans & throws puppies in wells.
SATELLITE BEATS CABLE.

What other television provider lets you use it’s contents as a frisbee? Satellite TV, provider of ultimate frisbee champions everywhere.
Try throwing around a cable box and see how much fun that is.
Comment by Lauren on April 5, 2010 at 6:28 pm
In the event that the power goes out or the zombie apocalypse begins (but that’s the same thing, right?), you can use your satellite dish as a rain catcher, shield or a hat.

Satellite lets me enjoy my favorite shows wherever I happen to park my RV. You can’t buy that kind of freedom with cable!
Comment by Ken on April 5, 2010 at 7:10 pm
I’m guessing the cable guy never rode a rocket. The satellite did. Satellite 1, Cable Guy 0. Game over.
Comment by Kenny Sturgeon on April 5, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Satellite TV is great because of the price! Why get something for free on the internet that you already pay too much for, when you could pay an additional $50 a month for the same content?! I love spending my hard earned money on services that I think should be free!
Comment by Kenny Hyder on April 5, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Satellite is better than cable because it travels in outer space.
Comment by Scott on April 5, 2010 at 8:34 pm
I think the main reason satellite is better than cable is satellite has more HD channels. When I’m watching a Utah Jazz game there is nothing better than watching it in hi def. Cable channels never work, but satellite is always reliable. Cable is never there for you. I would recommend everybody using cable to change satellite. Satellite ROCKS!!!
Comment by M-Dog on April 5, 2010 at 9:21 pm
SATELLITE is so much better than cable, due to the fact that it is much easier to acquire HD programming for certain stations. Satellite is also cheaper some of the time.
Comment by Thomas Fitzner on April 5, 2010 at 9:47 pm
The biggest benefit of satellite is that it offers an option. Otherwise, we’d be gauged by the cable companies that offer subpar service just because they’re the only player in a community.

My favorite feature of satellite TV? Being able to catch a show again at a later time, if for reason I can’t make the earlier time slot. Aside from that, I love the variety, and I love detailed guides that satellite services use.
Comment by Brian H on April 5, 2010 at 10:36 pm

Satellite rocks the most because you get that cool dish. With cable all you get is that stupid box.
Comment by Kid_dangerous on April 5, 2010 at 11:47 pm
Once upon a time I had satellite tv, it was great you could watch way more channels and different time zones, never miss a show you wanted to see. Now I have cable, pay more for this pay more for that, no you cant get that channel unless you pay more! I miss my Dish!
Comment by Jerry Lafferty on April 6, 2010 at 1:43 am
Satellite hardly ever fails in its service, and it provides television directly to your TV set. It’s much more efficient than cable TV. Even if the signal for satellite TV fails, it’s only for a couple of minutes before it comes back on. The picture quality is better as well, oh and I think it’s cheaper than cable.
Basically satellite owns cable any day!
Comment by Rhea Banerjee on April 6, 2010 at 3:14 am
Many may not be aware of this, but satellite television was originally invented by a group of time-travelers who called them selves Echostar. The name “satellite television” was thought up in the year 2156 after a few members of the British Archaeological Society unearthed a relatively well-preserved CD containing the work of The Dave Matthews Band. After listening to their 5th single, Satellite, these archaeologists could not seem to get it out of their heads. In order to nullify this adverse effect, they jumped in a time machine and decided to invent “satellite television” to fashion a tribute to the to-be-created Dave Matthews Band. Once the band’s single came out in 1995, people were immune to the the word “satellite”, as they’ve come to accept it into their everyday lives — the archaeologists felt better immediately.
That, is what rocks the most about satellite television — time travel.
Comment by Shravan on April 6, 2010 at 7:35 am
Sure you could talk about picture quality or channel selection, but I think we all know what the key feature is here: even if your satellite breaks you still have a perfectly passable cereal bowl to eat out of while it gets fixed. What are you going to do while you wait for the cable guy to show up in that 6 hour window he quoted? Tie knots?
Comment by David Butler on April 6, 2010 at 9:30 am
The one thing I think that rocks about satellite tv is that it doesn’t hurt your wallet like cable does. With all the extra money I could save with satellite, I could upgrade my computer every year.

Comment by Claudia @cdmtx65 on April 6, 2010 at 12:19 pm
Well if I had satellite I would think it would be very clear, lots of channels to choose from and not just from the US shows but a few worldwide! It’s cheaper and with lots or variety!
Comment by Mel on April 6, 2010 at 1:59 pm
Because even if the mole people of the underworld rose up through the ground and in the process destroying the vital cable lines, satellite will still let me watch my favorite TV.
The Discovery channel might even have ‘How to Stop Mole People’ on… which would be useful.

1999 Orissa cyclone we were warned on TV about it prior to it happened. In a cyclone cable wires of entire state got broken. After more than a month they managed to fix in urban areas (don’t know about villages). But if we would have satellite TV at that time we could have placed dish inside home. And when people were watching us on news channels. We would also had be able to watch news. Atleast the reformation steps to be taken by Govt.
Comment by SK Imdad on April 7, 2010 at 12:55 pm
So, satellite is way better than cable because it involves space and science, not just wires and dirt. Progress people! Look up!
Comment by Jonno on April 7, 2010 at 12:58 pm

I have had cable in the past and let me tell you it does not compare to Satellite. Satellite TV offers much more channels ranging from kids show to adults, ranging in comedy, romance, drama action, etc. I have found the quality of the Satellite channels to be quite better then Cable.
Comment by Noreen Ali on April 7, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Satellite is better because the signal travels more direct and satellite companies don’t have to follow the same rules that cable companies must adhere to. Better signal quality and a more reliable service are the order of the day. The whole program lineup is a lot less cluttered with useless channels as well. My last cable company’s set top box equipment was the size of an old VCR! Finally let’s not forget that cable companies get their signal from the satellites as well, sometimes even for the local channels!
Comment by D.Kracht on April 7, 2010 at 1:52 pm
I sent the tweet!
Satellite is better than cable in my opinion. The picture is more clear, and there are usually more channel options. We have also had problems in my rural area with cable signals out here in BFE, and satellite allows me to get my beloved reality TV with no problems. Satellite FTW!
Comment by Laurie on April 7, 2010 at 6:51 pm
Satellite is the best not only because of the price but because
1) you can take it with you, not like cable
2) HD programming
3) tons of Education/Learning channels for the kids
4) plus enough Audio channels for a music fanatic
5) I could win an iPad
Comment by msPurpleMac on April 7, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Satellite tv rocks because of its amazing history. Born in 1962, it has lived on and grown to be an international mainstay. Not much survives that long these days!

Hi,
I’m a satellite TV user from India, and a not so happy customer more because of the pricing and packaging policy. The HD interface is what makes me stick with it, Watching Cricket in HD is like a dream and with more innovative technology coming in, I’m sure watching everything on TV in 3D will become a reality only through Satellite TV. Flexibility to take it whenever you are moving is what makes it worth every penny you pay!

One of the best things about having Satellite TV is that you get to pretend that your house is a starship that can detect aliens in outer space.
Only trouble is that you crashed landed on this strange planet and can’t fix your engines using their primitive technology.
What a shame.

Comment by janet lindsey on April 9, 2010 at 8:03 pm
Why I think satellite TV rocks over cable is because:
1. With satellite TV, I can view more variety of channels including some which are censored from my country. It gives me as the customer more channels and more value for my money.
2. low cost of having 120 channels in satellite TV compared to my cable TV subscription plans.
3. Satellite TV is more portable – I just need to move my dish when I am overseas and setup again. Cable – I cannot move the cable box out of my house.
4. Cable TV needs me to rent my cable box from the subscriber and I probably need to get another different box when I changed providers. Satellite TV is universal and does not require me to change my setup everytime I change a provider.

The best thing about satellite TV is that the more you watch, the smarter, sexier and richer you become.

Satellites are cool because when the aliens come they will like you because they are used to seeing those where they live. They have no idea what cable is!
Comment by VJM on April 10, 2010 at 10:18 pm
Satellite TV rocks because the voices in my head keep telling me that it does and they never lie to me.
Comment by Debbie M on April 11, 2010 at 1:05 am
Satellite TV Rocks because they don’t invade our privacy like the cable company. The cable company’s equipment have cameras hidden inside and they watch everything we do! So, BEWARE of the Cable Company!!! Satellite TV ROCKS!!!
Comment by Tammie Chocklett on April 11, 2010 at 2:32 am
I follow and satellite TV is cooler than cable because it rocks outer space

Cable is outage after outage. Customer service…nonexistent. Satellite is always on, always available. More channels for less money.
Comment by Kathryn Howell on April 11, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Sattelite is better because of the price and the quality!
Comment by Ali on April 11, 2010 at 9:44 pm
cable was created by basement cat to help him take over the world. satellite is the creation of ceiling cat to keep basement cat in check.

Comment by Stefan on April 12, 2010 at 9:20 am
Satellite is better than cable because it is more affordable which is good in times like these plus it has more channels.
Comment by Kha amadu on April 12, 2010 at 9:25 am
My parents have satellite, I moved away for college and am now forced to use cable… there is no doubt the options are better, prices are fairly balanced if not cheaper when it comes to satellite, and picture clearly (availability of HD channels) far outweighs that of cable. I cannot wait until I’m in a position to get satellite again… cable is junk!
Comment by @nativesweety on April 12, 2010 at 9:30 am
I love satellite over cable for a few reasons: 1) cost effective 2)more channels 3) channels you can’t even dream of reaching with cable 4) you don’t have to deal with comcast cust service and billing! & 5) it is COOL!!!! Sadly I have cable at the moment because of where I live could not install satellite, however I am moving next month and DISH here I come!!!
Comment by Susa on April 12, 2010 at 9:39 am

Satellite TV is way better because the backscatter gives the the Titans & Europans something new to watch. (not Europeans, but the residents of Saturn’s moon Titan and Jupiter’s moon Europa). They were getting really bored with the reruns from Lost in Space…
Comment by Matt W on April 12, 2010 at 3:40 pm
I like satellite better than cable because I am able to check the upcoming programs for up to 4 or 5 days ahead of time to see it there are new programs, repeats, specials, movies etc. that I would like to see to make sure I catch these programs. There is only 1 1/2/hours schedule on cable before a program come on…not nearly enough notice time for me! Thanks! senekers@comcast.net
Comment by Sharon Seneker on April 12, 2010 at 4:32 pm
Satellite TV is just better quality picture, more to watch and just better than haivng to deal with those cable companies!
Comment by carol lewis on April 12, 2010 at 4:34 pm

Satellite TV rocks because it makes the south side of my house so attractive with 3 hanging off the roof and 1 on a pole in the middle of the shrubbery! Then there is NFL Sunday ticket that not only rocks my house but the whole neighborhood! And costs a bloody fortune! So to be fair, I need an iPad to entertain me for supporting Satellite TV! :0)
Comment by Melissa Lawrence on April 13, 2010 at 8:15 am
